Eastern Massachusetts Street Railway Company.   Acquired or absorbed a large number of street railways through the Boston area, including the Bay State Railway Company and The Boston and Northern Street Railway. Replaced the rails with Bus lines as time marched on. By 1960, they where operating in 85 cities and towns in Eastern Mass from the New Hampshire line to Fall River. Success is no match for power hungry politicians however, and the company was forceable taken over by the Massachusetts State Governments new tax spending machine, the MBTA, shortly after it was formed in 1964.
