Boston and New York Central Railroad Company. Formed by the uniting if 3 railroads: the "Norfolk County", "Southbridge and Blackstone" and "Norwich and Worcester". In 1855 it was able to open a road from Boston to Mechanicsville, which included coverage of the Blackstone Valley (59 miles). The railroad was a bust however and heavy in debt. After several reorganizations, it was aquired by The Boston, Hartford and Erie Railroad Company in 1863.
